As the crisp breeze of autumn arrives and the pumpkin patches beckon, it's the perfect time to add a touch of glamour to your seasonal decorations. In this blog post, we'll take you through the simple steps of transforming simple fabric pumpkins into a talking point in your home.
What You'll Need
You will need a Zodiac Pumpkin Blinging Kit, in the colour of your choice. There are 10 colours to choose from, including, ‘Orrible Orange, Poisonous Purple, Screaming Green, Ghostly White and Cauldron Black among others. Each kit includes a plush pumpkin, wax pencil pick up tool, flipper tray, 100 crystal rhinestones in a matching colour, and Gem Tac glue.

Steps to Transform Your Pumpkin
Ready to sprinkle some sparkle? Let's dive into the straightforward process of turning an ordinary pumpkin into an extraordinary one:
- Decide on your pattern
Decide whether you're aiming for a neat pattern, a scattered sparkle, or your very own unique design. You can experiment with swirls, dots, straight lines or a rainfall effect. Plan where each rhinestone will find its place on your pumpkin, ensuring you've got plenty of crystals to bring your vision to life. We like to start at the stalk and create straight lines downwards, following the natural creases in the pumpkin. Each line can be a different length to create depth. If you have more than one kit, try making each one different.
2. Prepare your workspace:
Set up your workspace by laying down something protective to catch any glue or runaway rhinestones. Try to work in natural daylight, and keep the area clean as dust will show up on your pumpkin. Have your tools laid out in front of you so everything is within reach, making the process easier and less messy.
3. Placing the rhinestones:
Using the Gem Tac tube, apply small dots of glue to the pumpkin - remember, less is more to avoid any sticky situations. Start with around 5 or 6 dots until you get the hang of it, the more you do it the quicker and more confident you will be! Then, using the wax pencil, carefully pick up a rhinestone and place it onto the glue. Gently press it down to ensure it sticks. Stick to your plan or let your creativity guide you - after all, it's your masterpiece!
4. Allow time to dry
Give your pumpkin some time to dry. Wait for around 5 hours to ensure everything is securely in place and ready for its grand reveal. When you see the white glue turn clear, it will be fine to handle.
5. How to display
Once your plush pumpkin is dry and dazzling, find the perfect spot to display it. Whether it graces your porch, takes pride of place on your table, or joins a festive arrangement, get ready to see it steal the show! We like to display ours together, with natural Autumnal items such as acorns, dried leaves, twigs and pine cones. This makes a warm and comforting display at your front door, and ready to greet those trick-or-treaters on October 31st.
