One of the highlights of NY Fashion Week for us as a nail art rhinestone supplier, was seeing the upcoming trends and popular colours choices for nail art this year. Along with the usual nude tones and the sparks of bright ‘Vampy’ red and ‘Barbiecore’ hot pink, was the timeless sleek chrome finish. Flashes of shiny metallics were dazzling on the Tommy Hilfiger catwalk show. Whether it was silver, gold, copper, bronze or rose gold, the shiny metallic coating certainly made a statement.Renowned nail artists Naomi Yasuda (CREDIT: Tommy Hilfiger nails above) and Holly Falcone both champion the fresh chrome finish as a Spring trend, and we’ve found the perfect nail art rhinestones to match. Try Zodiac Rose Gold for a pretty subtle pink/gold colour, Preciosa’s Aurum for a luxurious and expensive looking crystal, or Labrador – a bright metallic silver colour.Gold

Metallic gold nail art is certainly still going strong, with Preciosa Aurum rhinestones and Zodiac gold metallic raindrop shapes leading the pack. The luxurious bright gold colour is perfect for an expensive looking manicure, without breaking the bank. You can neaten off your design with gold caviar beads, these tiny metal balls make the perfect gap filler and are great for outlining the main feature on the nail. We recommend using Crystal Fix glue to apply the rhinestones to the nail.

Silver

Labrador (silver chrome) flatback crystals from Preciosa are the ideal crystal embellishment for metallic nails. They are like little pieces of silver, or tiny mirror fragments, reflecting the light beautifully. Again, silver caviar beads are a great addition to any chrome nails and are the most popular colour in general for using with other rhinestones.Rose Gold

One of the most popular colours in the nail art and beauty industry, rose gold is a stunning metallic gold colour with a hint of pink running through it. Whether you are aiming to create a chrome effect manicure or not, rose gold is a popular choice among nail artists as it has an expensive feel without being too gaudy and over the top. Rose gold works with other metallic rhinestones as well as pinks, clear diamante and AB nail crystals. It also looks stunning when used next to pearl embellishments, particularly for a glamourous bride on her wedding day!Dark silver/ Gunmetal

The perfect match to a dark silver gel polish would be Jet Hematite. This steely silver grey is almost black in colour but with a high shine finish. It is great for creating steampunk nails, or using with Labrador rhinestones to give an ombre effect.Metallic colours

The term ‘chrome’ doesn’t just refer to metal colours such as gold, silver and bronze, but extends to other colours with a metallic sheen coating. Other metallic flatback rhinestones include peacock green which is two tone as well, giving it even more shine. Preciosa also do various shades of metallic gold including Monte Carlo which is similar to brass and Starlight Gold which is a cross between gold and silver. Our range of caviar beads includes metallic shades in red, green, blue and magenta as well as the classic metal colours mentioned above. These are fabulous for adding a chrome touch to your nail design without having to commit to a chrome polish.
