In the run up to the most romantic day of they year, we like to share our favourite Valentine’s Day themed nail art designs, to inspire you and get your creative juices flowing. There is a myriad of crystals for nail art to choose from including Swarovski hearts and pretty pink mixed rhinestones. Here we are going to show you some of our favourite nail tips from our talented ambassadors and expert nail techs Scarlett Senter and Natalie Mugridge.
Kissable crystal lips – In this lip-smacker of a design, Scarlett has used the popular Preciosa AB rhinestones, light siam (red) flatback crystals and silver caviar beads on a simple pink background to create a fun image. The caviar beads are a great way of outlining the design as well as filling in any tiny gaps to make sure the final outcome is neat.
Delicate glitter hearts – Again, Scarlett has created a simple image of three glitter hearts but elevated them with the delicate use of gold caviar beads. We love this simple sophisticated design, the pale dusky pink background giving a vintage chic feel. To apply caviar beads to the nail, first brush on a layer of clear gel top coat, then using the crystal Katana or other pick up tool, gently place each bead down in the desired pattern before curing under the lamp.
We heart pretty pastels – In this cute feminine nail set, Natalie brings to life the joy of being in love with blossoming flowers. And the simple addition of AB rhinestones brings each individual nail together as a set, shining the pink, purple and yellow colours of the Aurora Borealis. The flatback crystals can be applied straight onto the top coat gel before curing, but for the large chunky embellishments to adhere correctly, we recommend using Crystal Fix glue which is specifically made for fixing nail art rhinestones.
In LOVE with Swarovski – Swarovski nail art rhinestones are shown off to great effect here, with the chunky 3D crystal letters and hearts spelling LOVE drawing our eye. Natalie compliments this with a single clear crystal heart and pink flatback nail gems, creating the image of a love heart locket necklace. The Swarovski L, V and E crystal letters are part of the ‘With Love’ crystal mix, perfect for adding to your nail art or even for making your own jewellery.
