Crystal Parade teamed up with Souz and Co to create crystal nail art at the Ibiza Fashion Festival. How did this marvelous opportunity to create fashion-forward nail art in Ibiza become a reality? Join us for the story...
NAIL FASHIONISTAS SOUZ AND CO.
After experiencing huge success at London Fashion Week, Suzanne Clayton started her own fashion nail team and this began Souz and Co.
During LFW, Suzanne was able to network and make some influential contacts within the fashion industry. Here, she saw huge potential to put her many years of experience within the nail and beauty industry to good use.
A few days later, Souz and Co was founded and the opportunities started to roll in, including a recent three-day trip where the Souz and Co Team worked on the Ibiza Fashion Festival. This is a new fashion concept which provides an exciting platform for up and coming names, as well as established brands. This year focused on sustainable swimwear and festival fashion on the runway.
IBIZA FASHION FESTIVAL
During the Ibiza trip, Souz and her team prepared the models nails for the cat walk in the sun. Souz was also asked to step in at the last minute to take on the role of makeup artist. All in all, it was a great opportunity to work with such a wonderful team of models and back stage crew.
For several months Souz had been preparing and creating designs, from crazy pom poms to bright neons, for the Ibiza Fashion Festival.
Ahead of the Fashion Festival, Souz & Co team worked with the festival models and created many designs which included glitters, crystals, foils, spider gels and metal studs. Souz, together with Karen Windle (CEO and founder of the Ibiza Fashion Festival) decided which nail art designs were to be used for the runway.
The designs chosen were a mix of neon tie dye, black and white check with metal studs, and plain neon. Using Gelica Gel, the team made 280 custom made tips to take out to Ibiza. The team also used Gelic Gel and crystals from Crystal Parade, to give TV presenter, Jenny Powell a sparkly nail art make over by the Souz team!
The first show was held on the rooftop of Sol House Ibiza which was presented by Jenny Powell. Show business guests included TV presenter Denise Welch and Holby City actress Angela Lonsdale. Rowetta, who is best known for her work with the Happy Mondays, opened the show with a few tracks.
Other international artists at the event included Rui Da Silva, Damon Hess and the professional CR7 dance troop from the beautiful island of Madeira. The performers were adorned in there festival fashion attire which included neon bikinis, summer dress, festival hats with feathers and face jewels. The deep house tunes, Ibiza party vibes and the magnificent back drop of the sunset setting down across Ibiza, made this year’s IFF another huge success.
THE FINAL SHOW
The final show was at Es Paradis nightclub. Unfortunately, due to a time change, the team had just enough time to apply the Ibiza crystal nail art to the models and then make a dash for the airport!
It was an exciting and rewarding few days away for the team and a real career highlight for Souz leading the team at an amazing event. There were huge opportunity for networking at the event, including future collaborations and photo shoots with various attendees. To top it all off, while working away in Ibiza, Souz discovered that a photoshoot from a few months ago was being featured in the London Runway magazine! This really was the icing on the cake to a memorable experience with a fabulous team of talented people in beautiful Ibiza!
