Here at Crystal Parade we have a lot to be proud of. We are proud of our wide product range, not only including a plethora of premium crystals and jewels, but we also offer a huge selection of nail art, costuming, craft and bridal products.
We are proud of our standard of service; always going the extra mile for our customers, in order to meet and, often, succeed their highest expectations. We are proud of our reputation throughout the country as being a reliable and premium service. It is all of this that has led to one of our greatest pleasures, and that pleasure lies in the London's West End .
LONDON'S WEST END SHOWS
We have cultivated a loyal customer base throughout the world of theatre in London’s West End. As well as working with many prop and costuming companies across the country, it has been our pleasure to supply crystals, and our expertise, to some of the most famous shows in the world.
Our past credits include shows such as Shrek - The Musical (Theatre Royal Drury Lane), Crazy for You (Regent’s Park Open Air Theatre/Novello Theatre), The Wizard of Oz (The Other Place at the RSC), Matilda (Cambridge Theatre), and currently, Baz Luhrmann’s new hit show, Strictly Ballroom (Piccadilly Theatre). And this is just the beginning, indulge us and let us expand on some of our favourite projects, past and present…
THRILLER - LIVE (LYRIC THEATRE)
The spectacular Michael Jackson tribute will be celebrating a decade in London next year! We supplied countless crystals to their costuming department… you may remember Michaels’ taste for glitter, jewellery and shiny things!
WICKED (APOLLO VICTORIA THEATRE)
Wicked is arguably the biggest hit in the West End since Les Miserables turned up! It is the untold story of the witches of Oz, is now in its 11th year in London and has been seen by over 8 million people so far. If you are one of those people, then you will know there is a lot of sparkle on that stage. Glinda’s gown alone is dripping in hundreds of crystals and requires a lot of upkeep and spare parts!
KINKY BOOTS (ADELPHI THEATRE)
We are extremely lucky to be able to say that we have been the sole provider of crystals to the people over at Kinky Boots since it opened in the West End in 2015. Since then it has set London alight, been acclaimed by audiences and critics and picked up seven Olivier Award nominations in 2016.
We really pulled out the stops with this one, a particular challenge being the sourcing of the the crystals for Lola’s red dress, which was to match the original Broadway costume precisely. Needless to say, we managed this, and our hard work has been paying dividends ever since.
42ND STREET (THEATRE ROYAL DRURY LANE) AND DREAMGIRLS (SAVOY THEATRE)
As a direct result of our work on Kinky Boots, we were drafted in to work on two of London’s current must-see’s. Dreamgirls and 42nd Street are both shows that live in a world of real glamour, opulence and showbiz. One is a glitzy Broadway classic and the other a hark back to the glory days of Motown.
So, you can bet your bottom dollar that they required a whole lot of gold, and a whole lot of crystal. Both productions needed a lot of hands-on-assistance, quite a bit of creative thinking and problem solving and some premium stones. In fact, we scoured and supplied both shows with Swarovski and Preciosa crystals, to be used on set and in costume.
CINDERELLA AND DICK WHITTINGTON (LONDON PALLADIUM)
The Palladium Pantomime is always an opulent affair, and always boasts some of the country’s favourite celebrities. 2016’s Cinderella, starring Julian Clary, was our first partnership with the Palladium, we supplied crystals for props, costumes and set. The most interesting part of the project was providing acrylic crystals for, and applying them to, the enormous pumpkin carriage that Cinderella is so famous for.
We were invited back in 2017 for the award-winning Dick Whittington with, amongst others, Paul O’Grady. I think we would all be a little disappointed if Lily Savage didn’t turn up on stage with a crystal or two! Not only did we supply the entire production with stones and gems, but we were invited to supply components for the theatre’s fabulous chandelier!
