I have to decorate my 6-year olds leotards and it was hard to choose as the sizes are from 4-6 and 6-11, since she was not getting any smaller, I went with the bigger one. You can put a 6y leotard on it but it's stretched to its max. I wish there was more guidance on that to direct towards the best suited product. Apart from sizing - the quality of the item is great. Pricey though when paired with extra shipping cost. You really need to use it a lot to justify the cost.
