Not a big fan of Valentine’s Day? Why not celebrate ‘Galentine’s Day’ instead – a concept thought up by Leslie Knope in the popular US sitcom Parks & Recreation. Galentine’s Day celebrates the love between you and your gal pals; your best female friends. Most of the time, giving a gift is actually much more fun then receiving one, and with craft, DIY and upcycling become even more popular, a handmade gift is often the way to go. We’ve come up with a quick, easy and cost-effective way of elevating a simple lipstick by adding a touch of sparkle – the perfect gift for a glamourous gal. Today we’re using our Zodiac self-adhesive rhinestone sheets, a fantastic new product which is ideal for quick application of rhinestones. Our rhinestone sheets made their debut on a promotional stand for Lancôme perfume in Boots, Leicester – what a start for this new innovative product!

Of course, you can choose the object and rhinestone colour, but here we’ve gone for a lipstick (cylindrical shape is easy to work with) and AB rhinestones which give off an enormous amount of sparkle.

You’ll need:

  • Zodiac AB self adhesive rhinestone sheet
  • Ruler
  • Scissors

Step 1. Measure the area you want to crystallize, i.e the length and circumference of the lipstick case. Then use a ruler to draw the strip out onto the white paper backing of the rhinestone sheet and cut it out.

Step 2. Peel back the white paper backing, it is very sticky so try to keep your work area clean and tidy to avoid any unwanted bits sticking to the sheet.

Step 3. As close as you can to one edge, apply the rhinestone sheet pressing down gently to ensure there are no air bubbles, and wrap fully around the lipstick case. If you have measure correctly, the two ends of the strip should neatly join together.

Step 4. Gently squeeze the two ends together to make the neat join. If there is any overlapping you can simply cut away one row of rhinestones.

And there you have it – a sparkling success in minutes!
