How to use the Crystal Katana

Pick up: Touch the wax end lightly to the top of your crystal and lift.

Place: Position the crystal over your glue and set it down.

Press: Turn the tool around and use the metal positioner to nudge it true and press it home.
That is the whole technique. Most people are up to speed within a few minutes, and the time it saves over tweezers becomes obvious by the end of your first project.

Both versions use exactly the same patented wax tip and perform identically. The choice is purely how you like it to look and feel in your hand.
Crystal Katana Black
A smooth black body with silver accents, lightweight and sleek. This is the one most people picture when they think of the Crystal Katana, and the one to choose if you work in front of clients.
Crystal Katana Bamboo
The original. A natural bamboo handle with chrome accents, a little warmer in the hand and a lovely thing to work with if you prefer natural materials on your bench.
What the Crystal Katana works with
The Crystal Katana handles flatback non hotfix crystals from ss3 right up to ss40, which covers everything from the tiniest nail art stones to the big statement sizes on a competition costume. It works with every flatback brand we stock, so whether you are setting Preciosa, Zodiac or Luna, the tool does not care.
It is just as happy with studs, pearls, chatons and small embellishments, which makes it useful well beyond crystal work.
You will need a crystal glue alongside it. The Katana picks up and places, but the glue is what holds.

Crystal Katana replacement tips
The wax tip is the only part that wears, and with a light hand a single tip will place thousands of crystals before it needs changing. When it does, you do not need a new tool.
Swapping it takes about twenty seconds. Unscrew the chrome end, push the old tip and its shaft out of the sleeve, drop the new one in and screw the end back on. The same replacement wax tip fits both the black and the bamboo Katana.
