Which size nail crystals should you choose

Sizes are listed in SS (stone size) with the millimetre equivalent in brackets, so you can match them to the nail you're working on.

SS5 (1.8mm) - the size most nail artists reach for, and where the widest choice of colours sits. Small enough for detail work, clusters and cuticle designs.
SS7 (2.2mm) and SS9 (2.8mm) - larger accent sizes for feature nails and focal points, currently available in Light Turquoise.
Mixed sizes - the Light Turquoise pack combines SS5 and SS7 for a graduated pave effect.

How to apply Swarovski crystals to nails

Every crystal here is non hotfix with a smooth, flat foiled backing, so it sits flat on the nail and bonds well with the adhesives nail techs already use.

Applying with nail glue

Finish your base colour and let it dry or cure fully
Add a small dot of nail glue where the crystal will sit
Pick the crystal up with a wax pencil or a Crystal Katana and press it down flat
Let it set before you apply any top coat

Applying with gel

Apply a thin layer of clear gel to the area and don't cure it yet
Place your crystals, then cure for the time your gel manufacturer specifies
Run a little clear gel around the base of each crystal with a fine nail art brush, keeping it off the top surface so you don't dull the sparkle
Cure again, then check each crystal is properly secure

What size Swarovski crystals are best for nails?

SS5 (1.8mm) is the go-to size for nail art and works for most designs, including clusters and cuticle work. SS7 (2.2mm) and SS9 (2.8mm) are better suited to accent nails where you want one or two stones to stand out.

How do you keep nail crystals from falling off?

It comes down to a clean, fully cured surface encapsulating the base of each stone. With gel, run a little clear gel around the edge of the crystal rather than over the top. With nail glue, make sure the base coat is completely dry before you place the stone, then leave it to set properly before top coating.

Are these crystals hotfix or non hotfix?

They're all non hotfix, which is what you want for nails. Hotfix crystals have a heat-activated glue backing that isn't suitable for use on the nail plate. Non hotfix crystals have a clean foiled back designed to bond with nail glue or gel.
