Clear is one of the most popular colours we sell. There's no tint to clash with your design, so it looks just as good on a black dance costume as it does on ivory bridal satin.

Swarovski's official name for this shade is Crystal (colour code 001), so if a design or supply list asks for Crystal, this is it.

Every pack is 100% genuine Swarovski, made from lead-free crystal with a foil backing that reflects light back up through the stone.

We stock 17 sizes, and you'll see the millimetre measurement for each one in the size options. Measurements are approximate.

SS3, SS4, SS5, SS6, SS7, SS8, SS9, SS10, SS12 and SS14: packs of 100, or wholesale packs of 1,440
SS16, SS20 and SS24: packs of 50, or wholesale packs of 1,440

Choosing the right size

Nail art, tooth gems and fine detail: the smaller sizes, SS3 to SS10, add delicate sparkle to a tiny surface.
Dancewear and all-over coverage: SS12 to SS24 work well for Irish dance dresses, ballroom and Latin costumes, and leotards.
Statement pieces: go for SS30 to SS48 on bodices, belts and headpieces.

Mixing two or three sizes helps you fill curves and gaps neatly.

How they're cut

From SS12 upwards, these crystals have Swarovski's Xirius cut, with 16 facets arranged in a starburst pattern. The smaller sizes, SS3 to SS10, are cut with fewer facets to suit their tiny surface area.

How to apply non hotfix crystals

Non hotfix crystals are glued in place rather than ironed on, which makes them a good choice for stretch fabrics and anything that can't take heat. Gem Tac and E6000 Fabri-Fuse are both popular for fabric, while E6000 Plus is a strong, flexible option for shoes, phone cases and other hard surfaces. What's the difference between hotfix and non hotfix Swarovski crystals?

Hotfix crystals have a heat-activated glue already on the back, which melts when you apply heat with an iron, heat press or hotfix applicator. Non hotfix crystals like these have a plain foiled back and need an adhesive to hold them in place. If you'd prefer to iron your crystals on, take a look at our Swarovski hotfix crystals.

What size are 3mm Swarovski flat back crystals?

SS10 and SS12 are both sold as 3mm crystals, so it's worth checking which one your design needs. In our size options, SS10 is 3mm and SS12 is 3.2mm, making SS12 the slightly larger stone. SS12 is also the smallest size with Swarovski's 16-facet Xirius cut.

Can I use clear Swarovski crystals for nail art and tooth gems?

Yes. The smaller sizes, from SS3 (1.5mm) up to SS10, are the ones to choose for nails and tooth gems. Fix nail crystals with a nail gem adhesive or gel. Tooth gems should only be applied by a trained technician using a suitable dental adhesive.
