As a keen crafter you will find just about any excuse to let your creative imagination go wild and get out your stash of crystals for craft — and the spring holidays are no exception. Preciosa have created this great DIY Easter craft idea, an Easter wreath made from small polystyrene eggs crystallized in Preciosa flatback rhinestones. You will find a wreath base from your local diy store or flower shop, some colour co-ordinated wool from a haberdashery if you’ve not got any lurking somewhere in your craft box, some gem tac glue, a pick up pencil and of course some Preciosa crystals in size ss16 (4mm).

We think some sherbet tones will work well for this project - Light Amethyst, Light Sapphire, Jonquil, Chrysolite, Light Rose and Light Peach. These colours are reminiscent of springtime and perfect for Easter. You could always use a mix of pastel colours and opt for our Sherbet mixed pack of 100 crystals.

There are lots of styles and patterns you could use to decorate the eggs, we jumped onto pinterest for some inspiration and found these elegant swan designs. We love how Pam has used flatback navette shapes to create the beautiful feathers in clear crystals. She has also applied some clear rhinestones to outline the scene, and Amethyst crystals to pick out the detail of the spring flowers.'Why not use different patterns to apply your crystals, you could do polka-dots, stripes, zig-zags or even words. We like this stripey sherbet coloured egg at the front, the pale yellow, green and lavender crystals make us think of a spring meadow.Another way to decorate your eggs is with crystal cupchain banding, we have a great selection of different colours, but we love this blingy AB adorned egg. We recommend that you use Gem Tac to glue your cupchain to the egg. Simply cut it to length, apply a line of glue, allow it to get tacky then add your cupchain.

For a less obviously blingy design, try using flatback pearls to embellish the egg. We stock a great range of smooth shiny pearls which will bring a more sophisticated look. Use these with clear or gold rhinestones to create a luxurious expensive feel.
