American singer-songwriter, rapper and music producer Doja Cat wowed the crowds at the Schiaparelli Paris Fashion Week at the end of January, showing up in an all red Swarovski encrusted look.
The pop star who has been described by The Wall Street Journal as having a ‘bold visual presence’ did not disappoint fans with this sparkling feast for the eyes. Her design team, which included make-up artist Dame Pat McGrath and the Schiaparelli creative director Daniel Roseberry, applied the 30,000 Swarovski crystals by hand, taking over 5 hours to complete the look.
Although this is an extreme example of the creative art, body crystals and face gems are getting more popular in the fashion world, becoming part of the make-up as well as an embellishment on the outfit.
