We are seeing more and more crystal rhinestones being used on our tv screens in makeup, costume, wigs, manicures and standout footwear. And we are loving this trend, particularly rhinestone eye makeup.
Crystal Parade were lucky enough to work with the very talented make-up artist Hila Karmand earlier this year as she adorned the beautiful Little Mix girls’ eyes and nails in Swarovski crystals from Crystal Parade, for their recent tour, ‘The Last Show (For Now)’. We thought they looked stunning and extra sparkly under the lights.Hila has also used our crystals for eye makeup on the lovely Cheryl Cole. We think they really add that extra finishing touch for a special occasion, festival or night out. This ever developing concept has even featured in Teen Vogue, in a photoshoot with talented actress Charithra Chandran, with face gems being applied above the eyebrows.Another big name in the industry, Taylor Swift has also got down with this sparkly trend. For the 2022 MTV VMA’s Taylor was covered in beautiful sparkles, including rhinestone adorned eye makeup.
The first tv show that caught my attention for its use of crystal rhinestone make up, was the hugely popular Sky HBO show Euphoria, starring Zendaya. Crystals have also been used extensively in the Netflix remake of Heartbreak High, which is very popular on the streaming platform at present. Tune in to see what we mean; you will not be disappointed.
Face Gems
A hugely popular trend this year has been Face Gems, larger shaped self-adhesive crystals that are applied to the face and/body to create beautiful patters and designs. Face Gems are a great addition to a party outfit, festival wear, carnival costume, fancy dress or musical theatre costume. We have a fantastic selection of Face Gems including different colours, shapes and themes.
If you are inspired by all the celebrities and tv shows embracing this trend, have a go yourself and we would be very happy to help. We recommend smaller sized rhinestone crystals and eyelash glue to adhere them to the skin – however, please be sure to always do a skin patch test beforehand.
