With the spring flowers starting to bloom, and the blossom appearing on the trees, it’s time to delve into the beautiful world of floral nail art. With a whole array of nail products on the market to bring the spring sunshine to your manicure, we’re looking at some of our favourite floral nail art designs using rhinestones and crystal embellishments.

We love these two opposing but equally pretty sets by Natalie Mugridge. In the first example, Natalie has created a soft palette of pastel shades and enhanced the focal nail by applying tiny SS3 Clear crystals to the centre of the flowers. This sparkly addition is a quick and easy way of bringing the nail to life. In the second example, she uses bright tropical colours and Zodiac Fuchsia Diamond crystal shapes as the main focal feature. Natalie compliments this with a Blue Zircon non hotfix rhinestone and clear diamantes. The colours work beautifully together – the hot magenta pink is Pantone’s Colour of the Year 2023, and no wonder, it’s bright, bold and we love it!Another super talented ambassador of ours is Lisa Johnston, who has a fantastic creative mind when it comes to crystal placement. Lisa incorporates images into her nail designs and elevates them with rhinestone embellishments. Below we have picked out two of her pretty pink floral creations, where she adds nail art crystals, flatback pearls and crystal shapes. The pretty navette crystal shape in the first photo adds that extra touch of bling.Let’s look at how Natalie Mugridge uses Preciosa opal cabochons in her design, the pretty pale pink navette shape in opal finish gives the impression of flower petals being a part of the design.

In the coral/orange themed set, Natalie used the popular flame shape, and White Opal crystals to compliment the gel colours. We like how the two flames side by side looks like a little butterfly, ready to perch onto the neighbouring flower. Here are two more stunning creations from Lisa Johnston, we particularly love the springtime vibes coming from the blue and yellow colours; you can just imagine a field of daffodils underneath a clear blue sky. In the first example, Lisa uses the Preciosa Light Sapphire Opal crystals to great effect, the pearly finish offers a more subtle sparkle, but then she hits us with the ultra blingy AB Navette.Using crystal shapes within nail art is becoming even more popular now that the Zodiac brand offers so many different shape options. And to achieve floral designs like the above, you can do this by adding some of the nature inspired shapes such as leaf, navette, paisley or flame.
