Cristaux de Luna

FAQS

Luna crystals are Crystal Parade's own range of affordable rhinestones. They're machine-cut glass flatbacks with 12 facets and a silver foil backing. You can choose from over 200 colours and effects, in sizes SS3 (1.5mm) up to SS60.

Luna crystals are made of glass. Glass rhinestones have a brighter, cleaner sparkle than acrylic, plastic or resin stones, which often have fewer facets and a thinner foil backing.

Luna crystals give great sparkle for the price, and they're popular with costume designers, dressmakers, dancers and crafters. For couture and showpiece designs where you want maximum brilliance, Zodiac or Preciosa can add an extra level of sparkle, and many makers combine them with Luna.

Both are Crystal Parade's own brands. Luna is the more affordable option, ideal for bulk projects and covering large areas. Zodiac offers extra brilliance at a cost-effective price. Many customers use both on the same costume.

It depends on your project. SS3 to SS10 (1.5mm to 3mm) suit nail art and card making. SS16 (4mm) and SS20 (5mm) are the most popular sizes for dancewear and costumes, and SS30 (6mm) upwards are popular for Irish dance dresses and stagewear.

Yes. Most Luna colours come in wholesale packs, with 1,440 stones in the smaller sizes and 144 or 288 in the larger sizes. Many colours also come in packs of 100 if you only need a few or want to try a shade first.

We recommend Gem Tac or E6000+. Use a rhinestone pick up tool to place each crystal, and let the glue dry fully before you wear or handle your piece.
